I’ve reduced my time on social media as well…having a sweet, energetic puppy really helps with this. We go for 2 walks a day now…which is good for both of us, and I find spending time with her makes my heart happy.❤️ after I check her paws for poo foot!

Oh, that's a much better way to spend your time! Maybe I will have to get a puppy.... ;)

the pottery piece is beautiful and so thoughtful. thx for the pooh foot reminder, I better scoop the yard! I agree that social media has negatively affected our ability to engage in social reality...does it decrease empathy? I am not sure about that. To me empathy is like truth, honour, integrity...it is a core value that we do or do not have.

I like the idea of being a core value, and I would agree. There are definitely depths of empathy though for me, and while I feel momentarily badness for the misfortunes of people online (self protection), I feel deeply moved to help where I can when that person is in front of me. I like that though...depths of empathy. Thanks for that thinking moment, Carol.
